Writing workshop: How are remote sensing technologies used to manage and conserve forests in Southeast Asia?

Forest and Society, an open-access journal focusing on issues affecting people and the environment, is currently seeking papers for a special section looking at how remote sensing technology is used in Southeast Asia.

For those interested in submitting to the special section, Forest and Society, together with the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF), the American Institute for Indonesian Studies (AIFIS) and Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), will be hosting an online writing course designed to help potential authors prepare manuscripts for submission.

The class will meet via Zoom on Tuesday evenings from 19:30-21:30 WIB/ICT (UTC +7) from Nov. 3-Jan. 12. It will consist of 10 online sessions, by the end of which participants should have a completed manuscript ready to submit for peer review.

Nov. 10:      Revisiting your research question and making a writing plan   

Nov. 17:      From abstract to outline

Nov. 24:      Writing out your methods

Dec. 1:        Results

Dec. 8:        Writing the introduction

Dec. 15:       Writing the discussion

Dec. 22:      Writing the conclusion

Dec. 29:      Holiday break

Jan. 5:         Deciding on an effective title

Jan. 12:        Editing and submitting your manuscript

Please submit your applications on or before October 25, 2020. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. The workshop is free to attend, and there is no cost to submit or have your manuscript published in Forest and Society.
