The Conservation and Global Health Field Course

AIFIS and Primate Research Center at IPB University, in collaboration with the International Field Study Program-Indonesia at Central Oregon Community College, and the Center for Global Field Study at the University of Washington, co-hosted the 2nd Conservation and Global Health field course at Pangandaran Recreation Park from July 14 to July 31, 2024. AIFIS co-sponsored this program through a grant from the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC) @caorc_council.

The seventeen-day intensive field course focuses on the topic related to "conservation and global health." The field course includes a series of lectures covering many topics, along with hands-on practices and individual assignment components. Important topics such as the classification of primates, threats to biological diversity, human-wild interaction and conflict, global health, field study techniques and field awareness, demography, and research ethics were among those covered in the field courses.
